Menuette is shareware — software with the ultimate money-back guarantee. It’s fully functional software that you can try free of charge for up to 30 days; if you don’t like it, throw it away and you pay nothing.

If you decide to keep it after the trial period, Menuette costs just $15.00. For this amount you’ll receive a serial number, which eliminates the trial-copy reminder notice that appears every five days, together with a disk containing the latest version of Menuette and more Menuette Sets. (That’s right! More icons for more programs!) And even though we’re sure you’ll never need it, Menuette comes with a lifetime money-back guarantee: if you’re ever unhappy with the performance of Menuette, just return the disk and we’ll send you your money back.

If you have a number of computers on which you’d like to use Menuette, you’ll probably be interested in our extremely reasonably priced multiple-copy license: you still receive only one disk, but you can use the same copy of Menuette on more than one computer. The price for such a license is $15 for the first copy (including disk) and $5 for each additional copy you intend to make from it. A license for 10 copies, then, would cost $60 ($15 to start with, plus nine times $5). If you use the Order Form…  button, the calculation is done for you (which isn’t to imply, of course, that you couldn’t do it yourself if you wanted to).

After you pay for Menuette, you can put your registered copy on as many computers as you want to (and make as many backup copies as you wish), as long as you’re only going to actually use one copy at a time. For example, if you’re going to use it on your computer at work and your computer at home, you only need to buy one copy, because you won’t use both at the same time. But if you and your spouse each have a computer, and you want to use Menuette on both of them at once, you should buy two copies.

And now, the actual payment instructions. For your convenience, there are now two ways to pay for Menuette…

Payment Method #1: if you don’t mind sending us a check or postal order in U. S. dollars, click the button marked Order Form… below. You’ll be able to enter all the information you need and then print out a form to send to us. Note that if you are paying for a multiple copy license, you must use this payment method.

Please don’t use registered or certified mail; this requires an inconvenient trip to our post office during the time we’re supposed to be at work, and therefore can cause quite a delay before you receive your disk.

Payment Method #2: if you are a CompuServe member and you are purchasing only one copy of Menuette, you can have the $15 shareware fee added to your CompuServe bill. CompuServe electronically forwards your name and address to us immediately (and eventually pays us the money, minus a small handling charge) . This is especially convenient for “foreign” users, because you don’t have to go to the trouble of procuring a check in U. S. dollars.

To pay for Menuette using this method: logon to CompuServe and type “GO CIS:SWREG”, then find Menuette in the database by entering registration ID number 626. You will receive CompuServe mail from us within 2 or 3 days confirming that we have received your order and sent your disk.

We’d like to commend CompuServe for offering this excellent service, because it takes only about two minutes of your time and greatly simplifies the shareware registration process. A similar system has been suggested to various authorities at America Online, but so far they don’t seem very enthusiastic about the idea. If you use America Online, you might want to suggest it to them yourself: send mail to “CS Manager” and “Steve Case” if you feel strongly about it (we do).


We’re happy to accept Purchase Orders from companies and educational institutions; please, though, be sure to indicate to whom the Menuette disk and registration information should be sent — in the past we’ve had delivery problems when companies or schools sent an institutional check or PO with no contact name listed on it.

When you send us checks or money orders, we do request U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank, please, and not weird foreign gnome-dollar checks. An International Postal Order is fine; they’re available from angry, overworked postal clerks worldwide. Quite a few people have sent their local cash equivalent with no problems at all so far, but of course we can’t be responsible if something goes wrong.
